Dr. Josh Axe on Healing Lyme Disease, Parasitic Infections, Chronic Viral Syndromes and Complex Chronic Illness

Renowned naturopathic physician and gifted healer, Dr. Axe, gave a live online presentation on September 27th, 2016, on the key components of overcoming complex chronic illness related to chronic infection. What we loved most about his presentation was his comprehensive look at the larger picture of healing, and how he incorporated not only healing the body but healing the mind and spirit into his protocols. This deeply resonated with our philosophy; we believe that to “heal” is to release all that is not you or that no longer serves you, in order to welcome in joy and allow your true sense of self to take root. Releasing emotional toxicity is as important as releasing physical toxicity in striving to unburden the body; a body cannot thrive while harboring a burdened soul.

And, we love that Dr. Axe has a simple tool for healing both: Essential Oils and Aromatherapy.
In Dr. Axe’s presentation, he spoke primarily of two of our favorite oils- Frankincense and Thyme. He spoke of Frankincense’s powerful immune modulating capabilities and anti-inflammatory effects, and he noted Thyme’s unique balance of gentleness and antimicrobial action. He noted that Thyme is not only a great anti-parasitic and anti-fungal, but it also has a proven effect against chronic Epstein Barr Virus. And here are some of the ways that Dr. Axe likes to use Frankincense and Thyme:

Frankincense- Dabbed on the neck, the bottom of the feet, or on the roof of mouth. By dabbing a drop on your thumb and placing it on the roof of your mouth, Dr. Axe notes that this gives Frankincense the ability to directly access the sinuses and pass the blood-brain barrier.

Thyme- A drop or two mixed in coconut oil and massaged into neck or over lungs. Dr. Axe noted that he further explains the positive effects of Thyme on hormones, skin, the respiratory and circulatory system in a full article dedicated to the oil: https://draxe.com/thyme-oil/ And to foster a sense of joy in one’s healing journey, Dr. Axe recommended one of our favorite oils- Orange Oil.

Dr. Axe beautifully demonstrated the reasoning behind how we blended our Lyme-specific essential oil blends, Balance and Renew. In Balance, we utilize Frankincense, Oregano and Myrrh, which together create a synergistic quality of antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and immune-modulating action. We love Frankincense for Lyme, Oregano for viruses, and parasites detest Myrrh. But what we love most about our Balance blend is that it also contains Orange oil, which we feel gave the blend the levity it needed to not only aid its user in sprouting roots in wellness, but in also fostering wings of joy.

Our Lyme-specific Renew blend is similar in concept but is target more as an anti-fungal by utilizing anti-candida Clove alongside Thyme, Myrrh, and uplifting Orange. Renew is a powerful aid in walking down the path of intestinal healing, but its levity also reminds us to smile along the way.

Thank you Dr. Axe, for demonstrating the very reason behind why we do what we do. You have our respect, our admiration, and today you are our inspiration.

Happy healing,
