Now that fall is finally here, I thought it would be a good time to do a quick DIY post for two healing recipes for your skin and hair after months of heat, sun, and chlorine.
I’m all about spa days, but let’s be honest, we can’t all run off to the spa every week, so creating easy treatment masks at home (with safe ingredients) is the far more affordable option. I like to switch up my face masks, but I typically to do them twice per week: one super hydrating, and one super detoxing.
Since we’re talking healing our skin from summer-fun, I’ll be introducing the ultra-hydrating at-home facial.
Recipe:1/2 a banana1/2 an avocado1 tbs of honey5 drops of lemon essential oil1 tsp of vitamin E oil (you can purchase the actual liquid or you can just break open the pill gels)
Mix all the ingredients together in a small bowl and use a spoon or fingertips to spread over face. I personally like to use a clean paintbrush. Relax for 20 minutes (or longer!), then rinse.I have to admit, I’m very low maintenance with my hair. That’s why I love this sea salt beach hair spray. But like a good haircut, there is something to be said for an awesome treatment mask. This one is very nourishing and helps repair damage and breakage.
Recipe:1 tbs of coconut oil1/2 tsp vitamin E oil1/2 tsp of jojoba1/2 tsp of almond oil1 tsp of honey1 egg (packed with protein for stronger hair!)
Mix together in small bowl, apply to hair while focusing on the ends. Leave in for about 15-20 minutes, and then rinse.
20 minutes is the perfect amount of time to do some de-stress grounding and meditation, so grab your Pause for Peace, and relax!
